Gylfi Sigurdsson would welcome more signings

Gylfi Sigurdsson claims that Tottenham Hotspur should sign "one or two" more players if they want to challenge for trophies this season.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has claimed that the club should sign "one or two" more players if they want to challenge for trophies this season.

Spurs have spent nearly £59m on four new faces this summer, including a club record £26m for striker Roberto Soldado from Valencia.

"We've brought in a few good players," Sigurdsson told the Tottenham Journal.

"Hopefully there will be one or two more to strengthen our squad because it's a long season, we've got many competitions, and we need a lot of good players."

Tottenham are reported to be closing in on a move for Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Willian.
