West Ham United have reportedly submitted an offer for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.
The Hammers are currently without a manager following the decision not to extend Sam Allardyce's contract at Upton Park.
Despite that, officials from United have made a bid in the region of £5.7m for the 23-year-old Spaniard, according to the Daily Star.
The report added that West Ham were forced to take action because Premier League rivals Stoke City had started to show an interest in the former Spain Under-21 international.
Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to have scouted the former Atletico Madrid trainee.
