Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has identified Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend as the next player to arrive at Villa Park, according to reports.
Sherwood, who signed Micah Richards on a Bosman on Wednesday, worked with Townsend at Spurs and is keen on a reunion, according to The Mirror.
The 23-year-old has another three years to run on his contract in North London to give Tottenham the upper hand in negotiations, but the Villa boss believes that he is worth it.
Last summer, Lilywhites chief Daniel Levy rejected a £12m bid from Southampton, having previously knocked back a £10m offer from Queens Park Rangers.
Townsend scored twice in 17 Premier League appearances last season.
