Real Madrid legend Raul: 'Gareth Bale's price is too high'

Real Madrid legend Raul believes that the reported £85m price tag on Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale is "too high".

Real Madrid's record goalscorer Raul believes that Tottenham Hotspur's valuation of Gareth Bale is "too high".

The Spanish giants are said to have offered £85m to the North London outfit for the Welshman's services, but reports have claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is trying to squeeze up to £100m out of Madrid.

"Bale is a wonderful player," the London Evening Standard quotes Raul as saying. "I understand the Real Madrid board is working hard to assemble the best team possible, but the price is too high."

The summer transfer window closes in just under two weeks on September 2.
