Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race to sign Danish international Christian Eriksen in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder only signed a six-month contract when he joined Brentford in January, meaning that he is set to become a free agent when this season concludes.
The Bees want to retain Eriksen's services on a long-term basis, but they are not the only club hoping to sign him.
According to The Northern Echo, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United are all interested in bringing the 30-year-old on board, but it is Newcastle that are leading the race right now.
Eddie Howe has been impressed with Eriksen's performances since he returned to the field following his cardiac arrest during Euro 2020.
The midfielder has scored once in the five games he has played in the Premier League this season, while he also made a comeback for Denmark.
