Egyptian striker Mido announces his retirement from professional football after 14 years.

Egyptian striker Mido has announced his retirement from professional football after 14 years in the sport.

The 30-year-old, who has played in La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and the Premier League, has been without a club since leaving Barnsley in January.

"Today I announce that I'm quitting football. I want to thank all those who supported me during my football career, especially Egypt fans," he tweeted.

Mido has also previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, Roma and West Ham United.
