French outfits Lille and Lyon are believed to be interested in clinching Tottenham Hotspur defender Sebastien Bassong on a temporary basis.
The 25-year-old recently revealed that he needs to play first-team football following a disappointing term at Spurs.
While there is interest from France, it is understood that the clubs are only willing to offer the Cameroon international a loan deal, according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is thought to be against loaning out the defender and would prefer a permanent switch for Bassong.
