Bongani Khumalo happy with PAOK move

Tottenham Hotspur defender Bongani Khumalo is looking forward to his loan spell at PAOK.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Bongani Khumalo has said that he is looking forward to his time at PAOK after joining the Greek club on loan.

The South African joined Spurs from SuperSport United in 2011, but has yet to break into the first team.

After previous loan spells at Preston North End and Reading, the centre-back will spend next season with PAOK, who Spurs faced in last season's Europa League.

"I am very happy to be here," said 25-year-old Khumalo.

"I was on holidays when I received the call from my agent who told me about PAOK and other Greek clubs who showed interest. Panathinaikos also wanted to sign me in the past.

"I chose PAOK because I believe that we can do something really good next season. I saw them playing last year against Tottenham and I knew that they are a club with ambitions in the European competitions."

Despite being born in Swaziland, Khumalo represents South Africa internationally and has won 26 caps since his debut in 2008.
