Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale will reportedly sign a short-term contract with a new club this summer, ahead of this year's Qatar World Cup.
The Wales international helped his nation reach the World Cup playoff final with two goals against Austria on Thursday, while he is out of contract at the Bernabeu at the end of this season.
Should Rob Page's side reach the 2022 World Cup later this year, Bale will want to be match fit and to do so is likely to have to find a new club on a short-term basis, with his future at Los Blancos seemingly certain to be over.
According to the Standard, the 32-year-old has been linked with a third spell at Tottenham Hotspur, while it has also been suggested that he could join hometown club Cardiff City for the beginning of next season.
The report states that Bale will look to retire after the World Cup, if Wales are to qualify, but if they lose the final against Scotland or Ukraine, he will assess his future in the next couple of months.
Bale has enjoyed a successful career at the Bernabeu, scoring 106 goals in 256 appearances for the club, during which time he has lifted 17 trophies.
