Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that he does not want the tussle over Luka Modric's future to "drag on".
The Croatia international, who recently admitted that he wanted to leave White Hart Lane this summer, is believed to be a leading target for Real Madrid.
"Hopefully the situation does not drag on because it doesn't help Luka and it doesn't help to solve in any way the situation," said Villas-Boas.
"The situation is not dependent on Tottenham, it is dependent on the clubs who are interested in the player."
It is understood that the North London outfit are refusing to budge on their reported £35m valuation of the playmaker.
