Ajax reportedly table a £15m offer for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Steven Bergwijn, which is swiftly rejected by the North London club.

Ajax have reportedly tabled a £15m offer to bring Tottenham Hotspur attacker Steven Bergwijn back to the Eredivisie.

The 24-year-old has struggled for fitness this season and has only made 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and setting up two more.

Bergwijn has struggled for starts in North London when fully fit as well, and the Dutch attacker is supposedly free to leave in January as Antonio Conte looks to bring in new faces.

According to De Telegraaf, Ajax have tabled a bid of £15m to prise Bergwijn away from Tottenham, but the Lilywhites have 'trashed' the offer.

The report adds that Bergwijn is also attracting interest from Spain and Germany, and Ajax could look to offload David Neres in order to make room for the Spurs man.

Bergwijn has five goals and 10 assists to show from 64 games in a Tottenham jersey and is under contract at the club until 2025.
