Harry Kane at the double for Tottenham Hotspur in Malaysia

Harry Kane scores both of Tottenham Hotspur's goals as they record a 2-1 post-season friendly victory over a Malaysia XI.

Harry Kane took his Premier League form into Tottenham Hotspur's post-season tour of the Far East by scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory over a Malaysia XI this afternoon.

The England international, who scored 21 goals in the top flight last term, broke the deadlock in the Shah Alam Stadium in the 19th minute.

Tom Carroll - back at Spurs following a loan stint with Swansea City - saw his effort from close range turned against the upright, but Kane reacted quickest to tuck home the rebound.

The goal put Spurs in the ascendancy, but despite dominating the possession, they were pegged back in the 32nd minute.

Indra Putra Mahayuddin's cross was intended for Thiago Juninho, but in trying to thwart the danger, Tottenham full-back Danny Rose only succeeded in turning the ball into his net.

However, Rose's blushes were spared two minutes before the break as Kane restored the English side's lead. Carroll was again heavily involved, threading through a low pass which the centre-forward fired in.

A number of substitutions were made throughout the second half, which disrupted the flow of the game, although Spurs were always in control of proceedings.

Despite that, Mauricio Pochettino's men were unable to add to their tally on what was their first outing on Malaysian soil since 1979.
