Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Wednesday's post-season friendly against Newcastle United in Melbourne.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has named a 24-man travelling squad for Wednesday's post-season friendly against Newcastle United at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Spurs have jetted off to the other side of the world after beating Sheffield United 3-0 at Bramall Lane in their final Premier League fixture of the 2023-24 season on Sunday.

Destiny Udogie, Yves Bissouma, Manor Solomon, Timo Werner, Richarlison, Fraser Forster, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon are all nursing injuries and have not been selected in Postecoglou's squad.

Both Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played for Spurs in the win at Sheffield United, but they have been left out of the travelling squad, as has Giovani Lo Celso who was not involved against the Blades.

Highly-rated youngster Mikey Moore is another to miss out, but that is due to his England commitments ahead of the Euro Under-17s Championship, while 18-year-old midfield duo Rio Kyerematen and Leo Black will travel with the first-team squad for the first time.

It remains to be seen how many senior stars will feature in Postecoglou's starting lineup, but the likes of captain Son Heung-min, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski - the latter scored a brace against Sheffield United - are all in contention to play in some capacity.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup: Austin; Porro, Phillips, Van de Ven, Emerson; Skipp, Sarr; Johnson, Maddison, Kulusevski; Son
