Jamie Redknapp: 'Tottenham Hotspur are too reliant on Gareth Bale'

Jamie Redknapp hints that Tottenham Hotspur are over-reliant on Gareth Bale.

Jamie Redknapp has hinted that Tottenham Hotspur are over-reliant on Gareth Bale.

Bale was crowned PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year last month and has been the club's outstanding performer this season.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Redknapp feels that Spurs are sometimes too reliant on the Welshman.

"The only worry Tottenham would have is losing Gareth Bale," said Redknapp.

"They are the closest thing I have seen to a one-man team for many years. Even Robin van Persie for Arsenal last year had a bit more support than Bale has had.

"If they don't make [the Champions League], it will be the supporting cast who will be at fault."

Spurs play Sunderland today.
