Harry Redknapp: 'England job would bore me'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp admits that the England manager's job may bore him.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would be "very bored" if he took charge of the England national team.

The 64-year-old has been widely tipped to take over from Fabio Capello when the Italian steps down from the position following the conclusion of Euro 2012 in the summer.

Redknapp confessed that he would find it "difficult" to turn down an invitation from the Football Association before going on to admit that it would be a strange role for him.

"I've always said it's the pinnacle for any Englishman to want to manage their country," he told BBC Radio Four. "When Fabio Capello finishes, I would like to see them give it to an Englishman. If it came along, it would be difficult to turn it down for any Englishman.

"I enjoy the day-to-day coming in to work with players, going out on the training pitch every day, seeing the players.

"I don't know if seeing players once every six or seven weeks. It would be different for me and I would find it very difficult. I would be very bored, I imagine."

Redknapp became Spurs boss in 2008.
