Former Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart has recorded a victory on his BDO debut at the Denmark Open.
Van der Vaart spent time with Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid as a professional footballer, but the ex-midfielder has taken to darts since retirement from the sport.
The 36-year-old is making his first appearance on the BDO circuit this weekend, and his debut has been marked with a 4-2 victory over Thomas Andersen.
