The Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur has been halted due to a medical emergency in the crowd.
Spurs were lining up to take a corner in the 40th minute of the contest when the referee's and players' attention was caught by members of the crowd inside the East Stand of St James' Park.
Tottenham duo Sergio Reguilon and Harry Kane appeared to inform referee Andre Marriner about the developing incident, before players from both sides went over to the far side of the field to garner more information.
Eric Dier then ran over the sidelines to call for a defibrillator to be brought over to the opposite side of the pitch.
Andre Marriner then called players to the sidelines and brought a stoppage to the game while the supporter in question received medical attention.
After waiting on the sidelines for a short period, the referee was given a further update on the situation from a steward and a police officer before taking the players back to the dressing room.
The supporter received lengthy treatment in the stands before being carried away on a stretcher, with reports confirming that they have now been stabilised and taken to hospital.
At the time of the stoppage, Spurs led Newcastle 2-1 after overcoming an early Callum Wilson header through goals from Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane.
However, soon after play restarted, and during the seven minutes of stoppage time, Spurs quickly added to their lead with Kane teeing up Son Heung-min for a simple finish.
