The FA reportedly fear that Harry Redknapp will turn down an offer to coach England in the Euros, which paves the way for Stuart Pearce.

The Football Association are reportedly edging closer to appointing Stuart Pearce as England boss for the European Championships as fears grow that Harry Redknapp will turn the job down.

It is believed that the English governing body are worried that the Tottenham Hotspur manager will refuse the chance to take charge of England for the Euros, according to The Mirror.

It is thought that temporary coach Pearce, who took the helm at Wembley this week for the Three Lions' 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands, will be made boss for this summer's tournament.

Reports have claimed that Redknapp remains eager to clinch the managerial position full-time but not until the Euros are over.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is thought to be keen on keeping hold of the 65-year-old, who is likely to lead Spurs to Champions League qualification this season.
