Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembele: 'We're surprised by our own league title bid'

Mousa Dembele admits that he and his Tottenham Hotspur teammates are "surprised" by their own Premier League title campaign.

Mousa Dembele has admitted that even he and his Tottenham Hotspur teammates are "surprised" that the club are in contention for the Premier League title.

The North London outfit are currently second in the Premier League table, five points behind leaders Leicester City with eight games left to play.

"Yes, [we're] surprised," the London Evening Standard quotes Dembele as saying. "We believe in ourselves but we surprised everyone and of course we are very happy about this.

"The ambitions change during the year, of course. We're up there, we play as a team and for us, this is what we deserve and we want to go further, of course."

Spurs have won seven of their last nine games in the top flight.
