Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has insisted that he wants to be given the captain's armband for next season.
Spurs are currently without a skipper following Ledley King's retirement at the end of last season, while Scott Parker is expected to miss the beginning of the campaign with an Achilles injury.
That has prompted the 28-year-old to admit an interest in the position.
"I've done it before, when Ledley wasn't playing, but it's in the manager's hands. It is certainly something I've enjoyed doing in the past and would love to do again," he told The Mirror.
Dawson has been with Spurs since 2005.
