Tanguy Ndombele needs to work "much more than the others", according to Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has claimed that Tanguy Ndombele needs to work "much more than the others" as he struggles for starts in North London.

The former Lyon man struggled to win over Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo on a consistent basis, and the early signs are that he will have a hard time becoming a regular for Conte.

Ndombele could be handed a chance against Leeds United on Sunday with Oliver Skipp suspended, but Conte has fired a stern warning to the Frenchman.

"I have seen many managers struggle with his position. He has the quality. He has to understand it is a team and he has to play into the team. It is important to do what the position asks you to do. We are working very hard. He has to work much more than the others," Conte told reporters, as quoted by football.london.

"He has talent but he has to put it into the team for the team, not for the single player. Every single player has to know what he has to do. If every player just runs around the pitch, it will be a mess."

The Spurs boss also admitted that he had been given "bad news" over the injury that Cristian Romero suffered during the international break.
