Franco Baldini has been appointed technical director at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 52-year-old Italian previously worked as Fabio Capello's assistant with the England national team before holding a general director's role at Roma.
"Franco is extremely well respected in the industry, possessing an extensive knowledge of players around the world," chairman Daniel Levy told the club's official website.
"He will strengthen our football management team, particularly in the field of recruitment, working closely with Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood across all levels on the playing side."
Tottenham begin the new Premier League campaign at Crystal Palace on August 17.
