How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Cardiff City

Sports Mole looks at how an injury-hit Tottenham Hotspur squad could line up for their Premier League clash with Cardiff City on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back from their midweek Champions League defeat to Barcelona this weekend when they welcome Cardiff City to Wembley on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino's side go into the weekend sitting fourth in the Premier League table courtesy of back-to-back victories, and another win would temporarily lift them above London rivals Chelsea, who do not play until Sunday.

However, Tottenham are missing a number of key first-team players through injury and so will not be able to field a full-strength lineup against the winless Bluebirds.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the North Londoners could line up at Wembley.

Possible TOT XI vs. CAR

Out: Serge Aurier (quadriceps), Christian Eriksen (stomach), Mousa Dembele (muscle), Vincent Janssen (foot), Dele Alli (muscle), Jan Vertonghen (hamstring)
Doubtful: Michel Vorm (knee)

Pochettino has limited options available to him this weekend with the likes of Eriksen, Alli, Dembele and Vertonghen all sidelined, so changes from the midweek defeat to Barcelona may be minimal.

Captain Hugo Lloris has now recovered from his injury and will start in goal despite his shaky showing in the Champions League, while in front of him Danny Rose is likely to come in for Ben Davies at left-back.

Eric Dier is also pushing for a recall to the starting lineup - most likely in place of Victor Wanyama - with Harry Winks having been trusted to play the full 90 minutes against Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Harry Kane and Erik Lamela were both on the scoresheet at Wembley and will start again in what is expected to be an unchanged front four, with Moussa Sissoko the only player pushing for inclusion in that area of the field considering Tottenham's injuries.
