Spurs boss Harry Redknapp denies making an alleged obscene gesture at Shamrock Rovers fans during his side's 4-0 Europa League win.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has denied making an "obscene" gesture to Shamrock Rovers fans during his side's 4-0 Europa League win in Dublin.

The Spurs boss allegedly made the gesture in response to Irish fans' chants about his upcoming tax trial.

When asked if he had confronted Rovers fans, the 64-year-old said: "Not really. Did I make an "obscene" gesture? No, I didn't make... No.

"I have spent enough time in Ireland to know what lovely people they are.

"If you go and meet them afterwards they are probably lovely people. But they get together and shout a load of nonsense and that is football. That's life. I don't hold any grudges."

Despite the emphatic win, the Premier League side were eliminated from the group stages of the competition after Rubin Kazan's draw at PAOK Salonika.
