Rafael van der Vaart: 'Harry Kane would not be able to turn down Real Madrid'

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart believes that Harry Kane would find it difficult to turn down a possible move to the Bernabeu.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has claimed that Harry Kane would find it difficult to turn down the chance to join Real Madrid if the European champions came knocking.

Kane has been linked with a blockbuster move to the Bernabeu following a stunning start to the season which has seen him score 15 times for club and country since the beginning of September.

Los Blancos would reportedly consider allowing Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema to move in the opposite direction in order to land Kane and, while Van der Vaart hopes to see the England international stay in North London, he believes it would be a tough move for Kane to reject.

"The thing is nobody says no to Real Madrid. But when I see Harry Kane now at Tottenham, the club also want to be bigger and bigger, winning the league, the Champions League, with a new stadium," he told PA.

"There is so much to play for. I hope he will stay. Real Madrid of course is something special but Spurs are special to him too."

Spurs will face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
