Vicente del Bosque is full of praise for Georgia's performance after they almost held Spain to a draw.

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has admitted that Georgia made his side work for their narrow 1-0 victory earlier this evening.

Spain scored the winner with just three minutes remaining after a gritty defensive performance and Del Bosque praised the home side's performance.

"I want to congratulate Georgia for their extraordinary performance," Del Bosque told the Spanish Football Federation website. "They put us in a lot of difficulty with their enthusiasm and their ability to defend all our attacks through both the centre and the wings.

"In this sense, it was not an easy match and they made it difficult for us, but we won three important points. We knew they would be organised, defend well and that they have options up front with strength that we had to be careful of."

Spain's next Group I game is away to Belarus next month.
