Southampton youngster Jack Stephens has signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 19-year-old defender's previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season.
"I have watched a number of the Under-21 games in recent months and have been particularly impressed with how Jack has fared," manager Mauricio Pochettino told the club's official website.
"He shows great leadership qualities and commitment in his performances. He clearly has a lot of potential.
"Jack trained with the first team during the recent international break and fitted in with the group extremely well."
The news comes 24 hours after club captain Adam Lallana penned a long-term extension with the club.
