Southampton, Everton chasing Jannik Vestergaard?

Southampton and Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jannik Vestergaard to the Premier League.

Southampton and Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jannik Vestergaard to the Premier League.

The Danish international, who is part of Age Hareide's World Cup squad in Russia, scored three times in 32 appearances for his club side last term.

ESPN says that the Saints, who are looking to replace Virgil van Dijk, have tabled a bid and are joined by Everton in keeping tabs on the centre-back.

Southampton have transfer funds available following the sale of Dusan Tadic to Ajax, while Toffees boss Marco Silva is planning a clearout at Goodison Park that would grant him extra spending money.

Vestergaard, who is yet to feature at the World Cup, moved to his current employers for £11.25m in 2016 and has three years left on his current deal.
