Report: Southampton keen on RB Salzburg midfielder Amadou Haidara

Southampton are reportedly considering a move for RB Salzburg and Mali midfielder Amadou Haidara this summer.

Southampton have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Amadou Haidara this summer.

The 20 year-old Mali international made 55 appearances for his club en route to the Austrian Bundesliga title and the Europa League semi-finals.

Haidara signed a new contract at Salzburg last week, committing until 2022 on a deal that is not believed to contain a buyout clause.

According to The Mirror, however, Southampton remain interested in the player, who is reportedly valued at £15m, and will consider launching a bid.

The Saints are yet to make a signing in the summer transfer window, although they did reward Mark Hughes with a long-term contract following the club's successful Premier League survival battle.
