Mauricio Pochettino: 'Dejan Lovren suits Premier League'

Southampton manager Maurcio Pochettino says that defender Dejan Lovren will fit in well in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that Dejan Lovren will be well-suited to the Premier League.

The Croatian defender was Southampton's first signing of the summer, joining the Saints from Lyon for a reported fee of £8.5m.

"We're very clear about our goals and Lovren was one of them. He is quality as a player, has a presence on the field and he's good at solving difficult situations," Sky Sports News quotes the club's manager as saying.

"I think his qualities will really suit the Premier League, so we're very happy to have him and to bring him into this project."

Lovren has 17 caps for his country.
