Southampton's Pablo Osvaldo 'fails to return to pre-season training'

Speculation linking Southampton striker Pablo Osvaldo with a move away from the club intensifies after he reportedly missed day one of pre-season training.

Pablo Osvaldo reportedly failed to return to pre-season training at Southampton yesterday due to medical reasons.

The 28-year-old forward, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Italian giants Juventus, was not among the group of returning players at Southampton Solent University, according to the Daily Mail.

Osvaldo has been linked with a move away from St Mary's of late having failed to make an impact following his £15m move from Roma last summer.

Meanwhile, the same report suggests that the Saints are close to completing the signing of Graziano Pelle from Feyenoord after improving their bid to £7m plus add-ons.
