Ronald Koeman rules out Morgan Schneiderlin exit

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says that Morgan Schneiderlin will not be leaving the South Coast club.

Ronald Koeman has reiterated that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will not be allowed to leave Southampton this summer.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a switch away from the South Coast, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur among those reportedly keen.

Speculation over an exit has subsided in recent days following Schneiderlin's inclusion in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, and the Dutch coach has ruled out the possibility of a late departure.

"The rumours about him have gone away," he told reporters. "He played a fantastic match against Liverpool and how he has acted is fantastic.

"He has to continue to show his qualities like on Sunday and we are happy to have him in the squad. It doesn't depend on offers. He will stay at Southampton."

The Saints host West Bromwich Albion at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday.
