Jay Rodriguez: 'We demonstrated our belief'

Jay Rodriguez believes that Southampton showed "belief" against Manchester City, but says they need to keep working hard.

Jay Rodriguez believes that Southampton showed their belief against Manchester City, but wants his teammates to "keep improving".

Saints held Manuel Pellegrini's men to a 1-1 draw, which stopped a run of three consecutive defeats.

"Despite that run, we still had that belief. We always had that belief," Rodriguez is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We showed that against Manchester City, which is great for us but we need to keep improving and keep working hard.

"We feel that we have a strong squad. Obviously we have a few injuries and that is something we don't like, but you get on with it."

Southampton are eighth in the Premier League.
