Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that his team's 1-1 scoreline against Southampton was a fair reflection of the game.
The Sky Blues boss believes that his side started well, but were punished by the Saints for giving the ball away needlessly.
"I'm pleased with the point because both teams deserved the point. It was a very close match. It was the normal, logical result," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"We lost control. We started very well, we scored a goal, had a chance to score a second one, and after that we played too quickly.
"Southampton are a good team and if you give them the ball they have dangerous players. That was the problem in the first half and in the second half too we lost the ball too easily."
Sergio Aguero had given City an early lead in the game, but Southampton salvaged a point courtesy of a strike from Pablo Osvaldo shortly before half time.
