Jason Puncheon feels that the new Premier League season will be a "very important" one for both himself and Southampton.
The 26-year-old has had a mixed time during his stint with the Saints so far, which has included loan spells away from the club and a difference of opinions with chairman Nicola Cortese.
However, the winger has revealed that he is now ready to prove himself at the St Mary's Stadium.
"This season is very important for everybody at the football club, and for myself," he told reporters.
"It's time to knuckle down. I'm not getting ahead of myself, but I'm feeling good in terms of my body. I'm quite happy with my football and how the team is going.
"I'll just keep going and see where it takes me."
Puncheon joined Southampton from Plymouth Argyle in 2010.
