Michael Laudrup aiming for 'big club'

Former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup reveals that he doesn't intend on coaching a team of a similar level to the Welsh club.

Former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has hinted that he will only consider taking charge of a major European side.

Laudrup has been linked with the vacant positions at Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, but the Dane, who is also attracting interest in Spain, has revealed that he is keen on advancing his career rather than becoming the manager of another "smaller club".

The 49-year-old told Politiken: "I have talked to clubs in England and Spain. I will try to not sound arrogant now, because I am not, but it has been clubs on a level where I have already been.

"I have tried smaller clubs in the two big leagues - Getafe and Mallorca in Spain and Swansea in the Premier League. Therefore, I do not see any reason to repeat it."

Laudrup was removed from his position at the Liberty Stadium in February.
