Sheffield Wednesday sign Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden on a one-month loan deal.

Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden on a one-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old American international has struggled to break into Dougie Freedman's side since returning from a 16-month injury layoff in January.

Owls boss Dave Jones told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He just wants to get going again, that is the most important thing to him.

"He's quality on the ball, he's got an eye for a goal and if hadn't had the injuries he's had then we wouldn't have been able to get him."

Holden could make his debut for the Owls when they face Barnsley on Saturday.
