Sheffield Wednesday are promoted to the Championship after beating Wycombe Wanderers at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday have been promoted to the Championship following a 2-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers at Hillsborough this afternoon.

The Owls, who were a point ahead of rivals Sheffield United prior to the final round of fixures, needed maximum points to guarantee automatic promotion back to the second tier of English football.

Goals from Michail Antonio and Nile Ranger were enough to give Dave Jones's side all three points and secure their place in the Championship alongside Charlton next season, while the Blades drew 2-2 at Exeter.

Sheffield Unied, Huddersfield, MK Dons and Stevenage make up the playoff spots.
