Sheffield Wednesday's Liam Palmer bemoans poor start

Liam Palmer admits that Sheffield Wednesday "weren't good enough in the first half" against Bolton Wanderers.

Liam Palmer has conceded that Sheffield Wednesday's first-half showing cost them dearly during their 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Bolton Wanderers yesterday afternoon.

Goals from Liam Feeney and Darren Pratley put the away side in front within the opening 25 minutes, which meant that Chris Maguire's 28th-minute penalty for Wednesday was a consolation effort.

"It was a disappointing result today and we weren't good enough in the first half. The second half was a bit better but we had too much to do trying to get those two goals back," midfielder Palmer told the club's official website.

"We rely on a good start and we just didn't have that in the first ten to 15 minutes. We can't wait until we are two goals down before we start playing."

The result has left Wednesday ninth in the Championship, seven points adrift of the playoffs.
