Shanghai Shenhua forward Carlos Tevez has criticised the standard of football in the Chinese Super League.
The former Argentina international hit back at comments by the club's chairman, Wu Xiaohui, that he has failed to meet expectations in the Far East by questioning the ability of homegrown players in the division.
"Chinese players are not as naturally skilled like South American or European players," French TV station SFR Sport quotes Tevez as saying.
"Like players who learned football when they were kids. They're not good. Even in 50 years, they still won't be able to compete."
Tevez, who has scored just three times in 13 appearance for Shanghai, is said to be booed regularly by the team's supporters and has been linked with a return to his boyhood club Boca Juniors.
