Ivan Rakitic gave the hosts the lead in the 17th minute with a penalty, after Coke was penalised for a foul on Anaitz Arbilla.

The hosts had a golden chance to double their advantage on the half-hour mark through Kevin Gameiro, but after beating the keeper to the ball he fired wide.

Rakitic doubled the home side's lead minutes after the break when he curled a free kick over the wall and past keeper Ruben Andrade.

Adrian Gonzalez quickly pulled a goal back for the visitors but their hopes of equalising were dealt a blow when Alejandro Galvez was sent off.

Carlos Bacca sealed the victory for Sevilla with two goals in the last 10 minutes to give the home side their first victory in La Liga this season.
