Sevilla's Beto out for up to six weeks

Sevilla will have to make do without the services of goalkeeper Beto for around six weeks because of a knee ligament injury.

Sevilla have confirmed that goalkeeper Beto could spend the next six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The 33-year-old suffered the problem during the closing stages of Friday evening's 1-1 draw away at Levante.

A subsequent scan has revealed a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in the keeper's right knee, which according to the club's official website will require a recovery period of "four to six weeks".

Consequently, Beto will miss the start of Sevilla's Champions League campaign, as well as the La Liga encounter against Barcelona.
