Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam criticises the Scottish media for playing their part in the axe of national team manager Craig Levein.

Scotland and Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has blasted the Scottish media, accusing them of forcing national team coach Craig Levein to step down.

It is believed that the 46-year-old has left his post following a disappointing 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, where the Scots only picked up two points from four games.

Adam tweeted: "I hear Craig Levein has gone. Unbelievable. Can't believe the Scottish papers got what they wanted."

Levein spent three years in charge of the national team.
