Schalke 04 not looking to sign a striker

Schalke 04 reveal that they will not be signing a striker in January despite Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar's knee injury.

Schalke 04 have insisted that they will not be signing a striker during the January transfer window.

Die Knappen will be without Klaas-Jan Huntelaar until March while he continues to recover from a knee injury.

General manager Horst Heldt told kicker-Sportsmagazin: "We have a good squad at hand, we feel well about it.

"To buy a new striker in the January 2014 transfer window is definitely not in our thoughts."

Despite being without Huntelaar, Schalke have the seventh best attack statistics in the Bundesliga.
