Sander Fischer wins it late for SBV Excelsior

Sander Fischer scores a stoppage-time penalty as SBV Excelsior beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-2 in the Eredivisie to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

SBV Excelsior continued their unbeaten start to their Eredivisie campaign with a 3-2 win over Go Ahead Eagles.

Chances were few and far between in the first 45 minutes, but the home side were the more productive outfit and deservedly led at the interval courtesy of a 19th-minute strike from Jordan Botaka.

Excelsior had their second just before the hour mark when Daryl van Mieghem converted from close range.

The away side responded after 69 minutes through Erik Cummins, before levelling through Sven Nieuwpoort six minutes later.

There was still time for a winner, however, with Excelsior skipper Sander Fischer scoring with a stoppage-time penalty to secure all three points for the home side.
