Saint-Etienne confirm loan signing of Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout

Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout joins French side Saint-Etienne on a season-long loan.

Saint-Etienne have confirmed the signing of midfielder Jordan Veretout from Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old was signed by the West Midlands club last July for £8m from Nantes by Tim Sherwood and made 21 Premier League starts last season.

Of the players who featured in the top flight for Villa during the 2015-16 campaign, Veretout is now the eighth to be sold or released following their relegation.

Saint-Etienne have also signed Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet on a season's loan.
