Beach soccer 'will be unpredictable' at European Games

Vice-president of Beach Soccer Worldwide Joan Cusco says that it is too close to predict a winner of the event in Baku.

Vice president of Beach Soccer Worldwide Joan Cusco has said that that the tournament at the European Games will be too close to call.

The beach soccer group stage kicks off later today, and four of the top five teams in the world will compete for gold in Baku, with Russia leading the way at number one.

"I am supposed to be an expert of the sport, but I promise you I am unable to make a prediction on who is going to win," Cusco told reporters.

"Not only on who is going to win, but also who is going to be on the podium. I have no idea. They all have a chance."

Hosts Azerbaijan are in Group A with Portugal, Switzerland and Ukraine, while Russia will compete against Spain, Italy and Hungary in Group B.
