Team GB's Holly Hibbott fourth fastest in heats at European Games

Great Britain's Holly Hibbott reaches the 400m freestyle final at the European Games, but Madeleine Crompton misses out.

Great Britain's Holly Hibbott has comfortably made the 400m freestyle final in Baku, while teammate Madeleine Crompton missed out.

Hibbott, who picked up gold in the 800m freestyle yesterday, came third in the fourth heat with a time of 4:16.53, meaning that she will be in the hunt for a medal later this afternoon.

The Briton finished closely behind Italy's Giovanna la Cava (4:16.12), with Russian Federation duo Arina Openysheva (4:14.95) and Anastasiia Kirpichnikova (4:15.68) leading the way.

Crompton was further adrift in the fourth heat, and her time of 4:23.29 left her 16th overall, with only the top eight making it through.
