Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has insisted that there was no falling-out between him and Daniel Nardiello.
The striker has joined Bury on loan until January, despite scoring five goals in 10 appearances this season.
Evans has said that Nardiello did not feature in his plans.
"I'm paid to make tough decisions, we are looking at the future and Daniel has not been in the team and that allowed us to accept the request from the manager of Bury," Evans told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I have never had a bad word with Daniel Nardiello in all my time other than when I have not been happy with his performance or training, which was in the main last season.
"We have not had any bad words, I have done nothing but praise the kid when it has been right to do so and he goes with our best wishes. Daniel has magnificent in taking us to where we want to be."
Nardiello joined Rotherham from Exeter City in 2012.
