Fabio Capello: 'Roma can win Serie A'

Former Roma coach Fabio Capello believes that the Giallrossi can stay top of Serie A this season.

Former Roma coach Fabio Capello has declared that the Giallorossi's current crop of players are capable of sustaining their strong start in Serie A this season.

Rudi Garcia's reign at the Stadio Olimpico has begun in spectacular style, with a run of 10 successive wins finally brought to a halt by last night's 1-1 draw at Torino.

Capello believes that Garcia deserves credit for his seamless transition to life in the Eternal City, while picking out Daniele De Rossi's commitment to the club as a driving force behind their exemplary form.

He told Radio Anch'io lo Sport: "Roma can win the Scudetto.

"The merit goes to boss Rudi Garcia, even if the fact that they have no European commitments has allowed them to start the season strongly.

"Daniele De Rossi has also remained at the club, who is a really important piece of the jigsaw, and Francesco Totti has made a difference too."

The Giallorossi currently sit three points clear at the top of Serie A ahead of Juventus and Napoli, who meet this weekend in Turin.
